The biopic was inspired by the biography of the physicist Stephen Hawking, and Jones was highly praised by viewers and critics for her flawless portrayal of Hawking's former wife. Inferno is a Tom Hanks thriller was her following role. In 2016, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles announced Jones as the British Artist of The Year because of her talents and contribution to cinema.
