Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born December 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to be awarded a score of 10 at the Olympic sport. Comaneci was discovered by Bela Karolyi later the Romanian gymnastics instructor when she was six years old. In 1969 she was a participant at the Romanian Junior Games which she finished 13th. She won in 1970. In 1972, at a meet of communist countries juniors before the Olympics, she took home three gold medals. After that, in 1973 and 1974, she won the junior champion in all aspects. She defeated the Russian Lyudmila Torishcheva. The five-time European Champion at her first senior international event in 1975. In the event, she took home four golds as well as a silver. She won the American Cup in New York City in 1976. She was the first woman to attempt a backward double salto as a dismount from the bar that is uneven. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her career in the entertainment industry began during her teens when she started dancing as a figure skater alongside her younger sibling Nina Wayne as part of the show that travels that were known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol was a part of the world of entertainment during her teenage years. In her early years Carol started out as a figure skater for traveling shows Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. The show featured dramatized ice skating performances.
