Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in France's Puy-de-Domme on the 9th of August, 1976. She was the youngest of four children. Audrey's parents who was both dentists and teacher, were aware of and supported their daughter's passion for drama and theater at a young stage. This support was more than enough to combat her desire to become the first primatologist. Her meteoric rise as a young actress was swift and marked by early success. Following her studies in 1998 she was a participant in the French program for scouting talent on TV called Jeunes Premiers that was supported by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors prior to beginning her acting career in earnest. Tautou attended the Institut Catholique de Paris, was a churchgoer in her youth and was educated Catholic. But she has since gotten away from this background. She has pursued a modeling career in addition to her acting work and is the model for L'Oreal Mont Blanc and Chanel is often called the Chanel Muse. Additionally, she is a keen interest in photography and recently produced an exhibition of her work at the Arles Festival, titled Superficial. The work she produces is focused on fame in addition to popularity. The exhibition also includes a series self-portraits and a particular focus on the media that has scrutinised Tautou since her meteoric success after Amelie. Audrey Tautou's international success and fame soared after her appearance as Amelie Poulain's leading lady in Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain. Amelie was a box-office international success, and received accolades during awards ceremonies across all over the world. The film is still the most successful French film of the French language in the US. After this film's success, Tautou appeared in many movies ranging from British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long dimanche de fiancailles and moving into Hollywood under the direction of Ron Howard of The Da Vinci Code, a Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code together with Tom Hanks.
