Actor Katherine Heigl is opening up about how she was born into the "white bubble" and how this realisation has impacted how she parents her adopted multiracial children. In an interview, she said recently that, with regards to skin colour, it doesn't really matter. After speaking with her sister who is adopted from South Korea she realized just how differently society treats them. "I asked Meg whether she felt treated differently when she went out with us parents than when she went out by herself. She responded "Oh sure! Every times!" Heigl explained to Parents: "That was when I realized that my naivety had made me feel." The singer became angry at the time, and chose to use that anger to assist her daughters who were adopted by her. Heigl as well as her long-time husband -- the singer Josh Kelley -- have a 4-year-old son together, Joshua Bishop Kelley, Jr. They took in Nancy Leigh (age 12) from South Korea and Adalaide (age 8) with a black complexion in 2009.
